TCL has released their NXTPaper phones in India under their subsidiary company Alcatel. They will be releasing 3 models on the V3 series-of which two of them have Nxt Paper display- the V3 Pro & V3 ultra. The third one is a normal smartphone called the V3 classic.
The V3 Ultra is the most expensive one at Rs. 19,999 (for 6gb RAM) & 21,999 (8gb) and has the best specs – except for the 128 gb internal storage, 5010mAh battery and Android 14 -which is beaten by the Pro’s 256gb, 5200mAh and Android 15. It also has a stylus which is pretty neat for a phone in this price range. It also has a big 108MP main camera and a 32MP front one which should produce nice photos.
The V3 Pro is cheaper at 17,999 rupees and is good enough for someone who wants a phone that will cause less eyestrain and headaches. And as mentioned above, it is even better than the ultra in some areas. They both have 5G, NFC and an IP 54 rating which gives protection against water splashes and dust resistance.

This is a great move by TCL and is much welcome in India since the country has a lack of android e-readers and e-ink phones. And those that do make it through the border become expensive due to various taxes. And while the NXTpaper is not on the level of e-ink when it comes to eye-comfort, it is far better than traditional LCD and OLED screens.
TCL also has a lineup of tablets using the NXTpaper display, so we hope that these will also come under Alacatel’s wings and be made available in India soon. All 3 phones are available for purchase from Flipkart.
