Hannspree has released their Hybri Monitor in Taiwan. It is a 23.8″ TLCD monitor which means it is transflective, which allows for it to be lit up by ambient light, similar to e-ink and RLCD, as well as have the option for backlight. This is possible because it has tiny holes in its reflective coating, allowing for backlight to pass through it, as opposed to e-ink and RLCD which has to use frontlight.
It has 4 display modes- Eye-care, Coding, Standard, and Indoor. You can connect the monitor to your CPU or laptop via s HDMI, VGA, and DP ports. It has an ergonomic adjustable stand that allows you different angles and height adjustments to get the best view. It also has a 75 x 75 VESA mounting interface if you want to install it on a wall. It uses only 4.4W of power in Eye-care mode and 21.1W if you turn the backlight fully on.
It is full HD with True 8-bit display with 24-bit color depth of up to 16.7 million colors and a refresh rate of 75hz which is a first for e-paper display. It is only available in Taiwan for now and can be pre-ordered from Bearboss store for around $900. It is also on display (4-9 Feb 2025) at the Taipei Book Fair on Booth C700.
