Kobo Elipsa 2e VS Boox Note Air 2 Plus VS Remarkable 2 – Specs Comparison

Kobo Elispa 2e has just come out and here we’ll compare it’s features to two other popular 10″ eink tablets- the Boox note air 2 and the Remarkable 2. Check out the table below for a look at their specs differences-

Kobo Elipsa 2e

The successor to the popular Elipsa, the Elipsa 2e was released by Kobo on 19 April 2023 and is made from recycled plastic and recycled magnesium alloy. With this device, you can read ebooks and PDFs without eyestrain even at night since this has warm light too. Annonate your documents and pdfs on the go and take notes with the built-in app.

The elipsa 2e is surprisingly the lightest of the three tabs at 390g even though in terms of size its in the middle between the Note and Remarkable and is almost as big as the note and is the thickest of the three. The Remarkable 2 takes the prize for being the smallest and thinnest of the three.

Features – Elipsa 2e VS Note Air2 Plus VS Remarkable 2

There is a significant difference in battery sizes with 2400mAH for the elipsa 2e, 3000 for Remarkable and 3700mAh in the Note air 2 plus, but given their features and use cases they should last about a similar time and is more than enough for an eink device, especially if you use them mainly for reading nad note-taking. You won’t get frontlight on the Remarkable 2 so that might be a deal breaker for people who read at night but you do get them on the other two devices and warm colors too. Except for that, the display on the three are pretty much the same with all being 10.3″ Eink Carta screens with a PPI of 227 and 1872 x 1404 pixels resolution. But I’ve heard the writing experience is best on the Remarkable as it is closest to feeling like scribbling on real paper.

Price

So obviously the clear winner here is the Remarkable 2 at $279 (from it’s original price of $399 more than a year ago). Actually, the pricing is quite fair if you look at the features and what you can do with each device as $400 with the Elipsa 2e gives you more options and features, while the Note Air 2 plus with Android 11 with google play support lets you do basically anything you would want to do since you can run any app from the Play store so the potential is so much more. But if you want a productive eink device mainly for reading and writing (and a great writing experience at that), then the Remarkable 2 is a great buy.
