The month of November saw an explosion of new eye-friendly monitors using both RLCD and e-ink display. First off we have Sun Vison Display announcing a frontlight version of their popular 32″ color RLCD monitor called the rE 2.0 Dawn. They also have a 24″ version called Eve that costs 1699$ while Dawn is 1949$.
Both of these monitors are available for pre-order from their website and shipping will start in January of 2025. The price of the older version that doesn’t have frontlight has also been deducted to 1199$.
Another maker of RLCD that’s on the rise the past year is Hannspree. A few months ago they announced that they will release three new RLCD monitors 14″, 23.8″ and 28″. And while they haven’t been officially released, we have seen other companies releasing monitors using the Hannspree panels. But they’re impossible to get in other countries outside of Taiwan and China. Maybe they will release them at the same time that will release their two new tablets– the Lumo Note and Ambi Note (10.1″ and 7.8″) which is slated for an April 2025 release. If you can’t wait till then then you can scour chinese websites for their panels or full monitors using the Hannspree models.
Dasung also introduced their REVO series back in october with the Paperlike color Revo achieving 33hz. Then in November they applied the new tech to their other monitors which is the Paperlike 253 with same 33 hz, the Paperlike 13.3″ with 40hz and the Paperlike color 12″ with 41hz speed.
All of these monitors except for the 12″ one are available from the Dasung Shop.
