Bigme just released the Hibreak Color which is the first e-ink color android phone since 2021 when Hisense launched the A7CC. I was really excited about this device. But, when I saw it’s specs I was disappointed. I thought they would be using Kaleido 3 display with 150 PPI for color. But this one only has 91 PPI which means it is probably a Kaleido 1 panel. But the specs are fair though for it’s price.
6gb ram with 128gb internal storage is quite generous for the price but man I wish they used Kaleido 3 or at least Kaleido 2 even if it means selling it at a higher price. This is the one mistake of Bigme I feel. They would have sold more devices if it was 300$ and with a higher PPI. But it’s a good start for their first epaper phones and they will launch 2 new ones in Q4 this year and this one am sure will have 150PPI for color, or at least 120.
