The Daylight Computer Company has just unveiled a new RLCD device called the Daylight Tablet. The company hopes to combat the many mental and physical issues faced when using LCD and OLED screens by providing a healthier, more eye-friendly display while at the same time without compromising on speed and features.
According to the company, The Daylight Tablet uses a special kind of e-Paper, called LivePaper. It’s similar to the Pebble watch. It’s screen causes less eye strain as they mimic looking at paper instead of a glowing screen and it is reflective instead of emissive. (So am assuming it is an RLCD display, similar to the TCL Nxtpaper S8 and the Hisense Q5).
It has a front-light but it doesn’t emit blue-light or have PWM. It will have a 60hz refresh rate with 60 – 120 fps. With regards to the tablet’s specs, it will have 8GB of RAM and a 2.2 Ghz processor and run on Android 13.
Price & Release Date
The tablet will be released in May of 2024 but you can pre-order it now from their website for 799$. This is a new company so please exercise caution and do proper research before making a purchase.
