Yesterday Bigme sent me an email with details about their upcoming e-ink phones. I’ve quoted the email below-
“Hello ,Â
We have some news about Hibreak that I want to share with you . The Hibreak size is 5.84 inches.  It will be released in two different versions, color and black & white.Â
In terms of processor and storage configuration, we plan to launch two combinations:
an octa-core MTK6765 with 6+128GB, Android 11 open system, and MediaTek Dimensity 900 with 8+256GB, Android 14 open system.Â
One of them will be released first, and another version is expected to be officially released in the Q4 of this year.
Furthermore , it will comes with auto ghosting elimination technology as well .Â
The price range is as below :
We will announce the final price at the end of this Month.
We will let you know more detail once we have it . “
So there you have it. I am eager to see how this unfolds. I honestly wish the cheaper versions have a 13 or 14 android version. The 11 is kind of a deal breaker. I don’t mind the lower RAM or chipset or internal storage. 6 GB RAM with 128 GB is sufficient for me especially if it has an option to expand via microDS card. But 11 is quite outdated as we are currently on 14 with 15 right around the corner (I assume, since 14 released in october of 2023).
Nevertheless, these are impressive specs and am glad someone is getting innovative and trying new things in the e-ink space. Bigme is the company to look out for and if it continues on this trend it will soon surpass Boox as the top dog in the android e-reader segment.
