I was browsing through the Boox Russian Shop when I stumbled upon a device called the Kant 2. At first, I thought it was the Palma under a different name, but then I saw that the Palma was also listed on the website. So it is actually a different e-reader but with similar specs.
The Kant 2 uses the same 6.13 inch Carta plus screen and also run on Android 11, and have the same 3950 mAh battery. But the Kant 2 is 10 grams lighter at 160g; doesn’t have a camera and comes in only one color, Black. It also has a less powerful Quad core CPU instead of an octa-core one and 2gb of Ram with 32gb of internal storage.
Some people have used the Palma as a sort of phone replacement where they use all kinds of apps on it, but I guess the Kant 2 is for those who simply want a simple pocket e-reader. You can still install apps on it of course, but I doubt they will run as smoothly as on the Palma which has 3 times the RAM. What do you guys think? Would you get the Kant 2 if it was released internationally?
Another device I found is the Faraday, which is very similar to the beloved Nova Air C; except that this one uses Kaleido 3 instead of Plus and has a much bigger 5000mAh battery compared to the Air C’s 2000mAh. This has it’s drawbacks though, as it makes the device 60 grams heavier and 2mm thicker.
