In the past if you waned an e-paper like display on your phone then you’d usually go with the Hisense e-ink phones or the recent ones from Bigme. But both of those run on Android OS only or even Custom Linux ones like Mudita Pure, Light phone etc. Now to aadd more variety to the market, two Chinese technicians have modded an iphone 8 with an RLCD display. And they’ve started selling them on AliExpress.
RLCD is not as clear as e-ink and not as eye-freindly too, but it does have some advantages over it like speed and cheaper display panelsm aking the overall finished product cheaper for consumers.
This particular iphone that you can buy now from Aliexpress is the 8 plus version withh 256 gb of internal storage. The makers have said that they plan to add more versions in the future. Which model do you want them to make?
